Gonna have to return it. Nothing seems to be working correctly. Checking daily for updates for bug fixes. Plus it lags sometimes lol. This is embarrassing. I have to use my MacBook air along side of it. The new surfaces are going to need at least 6 months to a year worth of updates before you can download your favorite applications
Recall was recalled. Due to security issues, the feature called Recall that records all your actions in the computer was disabled from Microsoft for further evaluation and development. Security and privacy from Microsoft devices are unquestionable. They are enterprise level. This is an amazing piece of hardware that I can't wait to get my hands on. Like it or not, Ai is here to stay. You can wait until it is more mature, but if you are someone that wants to stay on top of technology, these new co-pilot PCs are the way to go. Note that this is the first generation os them, so be patient with the bugs. Yet be very demanding on security and privacy.
Beautiful design, Keyboard not included which is deceptive. I feel like a fool, I bought this Surface Pro on whim as I needed a new computer. I saw the ads on Amazon and I love AI to make my life easier so I was instantly sold. I didn't realize that the keyboard and pen were sold separately as the photos, videos on the Amazon listing are misleading as they all show the attached keyboard. I had to purchase the keyboard and pen separate and that was an additional $300 I wasn't planning on spending. Amazon should change the listing photo to show only the Surface Pro tablet without the keyboard and make more clear that the keyboard is separate. I have never used a Surface before so I had no idea. Here are my thoughts 24 hours into owning this computer/tablet:Pros: Sleek, elegant design. I absolutely love the blue color that I purchased, it's gorgeous. The screen resolution and colors are fantastic. I am a digital artist and it perfectly displays my artwork. The facial recognition and pin entry are so easy to set up and use, very similar to a phone so I really like that. The video camera for online meetings is very good quality and I like the blur background feature that is built in. Copilot is very useful and I can see it helping me in my business, setting reminders, giving me ideas, writing captions for social media and more. I'm a big ChatGPT fan so having copilot built in with the push of a button simplifies and makes my life easier. It's very quiet, no loud fan, doesn't over heat. The battery life is amazing, hours watching YouTube, videos with moderate to high brightness the battery is lasting all day! It's very portable and easy to carry around. And I enjoy it better than my work computer. The built in stand is nice and I was able to connect my mouse to it without issue via Bluetooth. The customization options and adding colors are super fun and my home screen looks beautiful.Cons: While I am big on AI and productivity, I still value my privacy and the fact that there isn't an optional camera from lense cover is very annoying. I bought one to add but I think it might mess with the facial recognition so yeah I guess I won't be walking around in my underwear in front of the computer lol. Second, the laptop froze yesterday when I tried to download Google Drive yesterday and I now understand that they are not compatible which by the way is a big miss. I do not want a Chromebook but I do want to use Google photos to backup my artwork and that is a defect that they are not compatible. But worse is that within less than 2 hours of having this laptop it froze and I had to manually restart, that is a huge red flag. I have been using it all day today and haven't had that issue to I'm hoping to write it off to the fact that things were still updating yesterday when this occured. I believe that for the money 512 GB of storage is absurdly low. The blue color was not available in 1 TB. My phone has more storage than that lol. The Cocreate option was an interesting selling point featuring AI art capability and on my gosh, what a joke that is. It's an add on to the paint app and the art or generates is very low quality, which I won't be using. They made a big deal out of this advertising in the video and on Microsoft's homepage but honestly it's ridiculous. I'm hoping I can use the pen for other things with the Surface. For now I'm still undecided if I will be keeping this machine. I'm going to use for a few more days and determine if it's worth the money of if I'm better off with a $400 laptop that will do everything that I need. I will update this review as I discover more pros and cons too.

REASONS TO BUY:

  • Fantastic performance
  • Incredible battery life (for Windows)
  • Fully-functional OS
  • Optional OLED display

REASONS TO AVOID:

  • Native ARM versions of popular apps not released yet
  • Built-in AI features feel gimmicky right now

The Microsoft Surface Pro 11 distinguishes itself with its exceptional design, stunning touchscreen display, and impressive battery life, making it a top contender among 2-in-1 laptops. Running a full Windows 11 OS, it surpasses the iPad Pro in functionality. While its performance might slightly trail the latest iPad Pro with Apple M4, it excels in benchmark tests and meets the needs of most users without significant drawbacks.

The design and battery life of the Surface Pro 11 are particularly noteworthy. It features an optional 2.8K OLED touchscreen display with incredible color accuracy, making it a valuable upgrade. This touchscreen capability enhances the user experience, making it a versatile tool for both work and play.

Additionally, it boasts a 1440p webcam and a solid, lightweight build. The battery life lives up to Microsoft’s 14-hour claim, even approaching 15 hours in our local video playback tests, showcasing the power efficiency of Arm architecture.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 11 excels in all areas, redefining what users expect from a top-tier Windows laptop. As more developers release Arm-compatible apps and AI features continue to evolve, this laptop is set to become even more remarkable.

REASONS TO BUY:

  • Gorgeous display
  • Phenomenal battery life
  • Bigger keyboard

REASONS TO AVOID:

  • Flimsy keyboard
  • Difficult kickstand

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook is a standout for being both excellent and affordable. While it’s not a premium Chromebook and its specs aren’t high-end, it offers ample power for its target users—those who rely on Google Chrome for work and engage in casual tasks. It’s perfect for sending emails, writing articles, and streaming shows.

One of its best features is its portability, making it easy to take along for work on the go. The decently-sized keyboard and outstanding battery life—lasting about 16 hours and 20 minutes in our tests—enhance its utility for travel.

As a 2-in-1 device, it boasts a touch display, which has been upgraded to OLED from its predecessor. The touch capability is responsive, and the OLED panel delivers vivid colors, enhancing the overall user experience.

Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen 8 (2023): A Stylish and High-Performance Powerhouse

The Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen 8 (2023) combines elevated design, speedy performance, and impressive features, all at a more affordable price than its popular rivals. Right out of the box, it’s clear that this laptop is a fantastic choice for users who value both aesthetics and performance.

In our testing, it outperformed other touchscreen laptops, including the similarly specced and priced Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360. While it may lack discrete graphics for intensive creative tasks, it still holds its own, efficiently processing and exporting 50 high-resolution 7952 x 4472 images from RAW to JPEG in Lightroom. Its battery life is also commendable, lasting a bit over 10 hours in our web surfing battery test.

The OLED display, although not as bright as we hoped (averaging around 350 nits), delivers stunning picture quality. Lenovo includes a stylus, which is a valuable addition given the laptop’s price. Even without the stylus, the display remains vibrant, responsive, and intuitive to touch commands, enhancing the overall user experience.
